Green peas – 1 cup fresh or frozen

Garlic – 2-3 cloves
Ginger – 1/2 inch piece, chopped
Tomatoes – 2 medium coarsely chopped
Cashews – 5-6 (soaked in warm water for 20-30 minutes)
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1/4 tsp
Oil or Ghee – 2 tablespoons + to roast
salt to taste


How to Make Matar Paneer (Cooking Method)

If you are using fresh green peas, boil them in salted water for 8 – 10 minutes or until soft. If you are using frozen peas, there is no need to boil them, you can use them directly. Make cashew paste in a grinder.

Step 1 – Now take a pan, heat it and add oil and ghee to it. Add chopped onion and fry the onion. After that add ginger garlic and fry it.

Step 2 – Add tomatoes, green chilies, and a little salt and cook it for a while. Once cooked, remove it from the stove and let it cool.

Step 3 – After it gets cold, put it in the grinder and grind it.

Step 4 – Now put the Pan on the gas again, when the pan is slightly heated, add a little oil to it.



Step 5 – When the oil gets hot, add chili powder and immediately add tomato and onion paste and mix well, after that add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and cook on medium flame. Cook it till it starts leaving the oil. After that put cashew paste and cook.

Step 6 – Add the peas and roast them for a while. Then add the required water to it, as much as you want to keep the gravy. Let it cook for a while.

Step 7 – After that add the paneer and cook it for 5 minutes. After that check the salt is less, then add the required salt. After that put garam masala powder and coriander address.
