Peda Recipe | Easy way to make delicious Peda at home

Peda is a famous Indian sweet which is made especially on festivals and auspicious occasions. It has a soft texture and tastes amazing. Milk or khoya (mawa) is used to make peda. Here I am going to explain you the full detail recipe of making peda.

Ingredients for Peda:-

Khoya (mawa) – 500 grams (you can make it at home or buy it from the market)
Sugar – 200 grams (ground)
Cardamom Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Ghee – 1 tablespoon (for smoothness)
Pistachio or Almonds – 8-10 finely chopped (for garnish)

Cooking Method (How to Make Peda at Home)

Step – 1 Firstly, heat 1 tablespoon ghee in a non-stick pan on medium flame. Add khoya and fry it on low flame for 8-10 minutes. Keep stirring continuously till the color of khoya becomes light golden so that it does not stick to the bottom.

Step – 2 When the khoya is well fried and its color becomes light golden, add powdered sugar to it. After adding sugar, mix the mixture well so that the sugar dissolves completely in the khoya.

Step – 3 When the mixture thickens and starts separating from the sides of the pan, then add cardamom powder to it. The fragrance of cardamom adds a different flavor to the peda, making it even more delicious.

Step – 4 Let the mixture cool down a bit so that it can be easily shaped. You can take it out in a plate and leave it to cool for a few minutes.

Step – 5 Now apply some ghee on your hands and make small round pedas from this mixture. Put thin slices of pistachio or almond on top of each peda so that it looks attractive.

Step – 6 Place all the pedas on a plate and let them cool for a few hours so that they set well. After this, your delicious Khoya Peda is ready to serve.

Peda Recipe Tips

Right selection of Khoya: Use only fresh Khoya to make Peda. This keeps the sweetness and texture of the Peda right.

Fry on medium flame: Always fry the Khoya on low flame so that it does not burn and its taste increases.

Cardamom and nuts: To further enhance the taste of Peda, you can also use saffron apart from cardamom.
