Friends, Dal Dhokli is a traditional recipe made in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, which is made from tur dal and wheat flour. Which is very tasty to eat. So let’s know how it is made.


Ingredients:-

Tur Dal – 1/2 cup
Peanuts – 3 tablespoons (boiled)
Wheat Flour – 1/2 cup
Carom Seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Chickpea Flour – 1 tablespoon
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 teaspoon + 1/4 teaspoon
Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 teaspoon + 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
a pinch of asafoetida
Dry Red Chilli – 1, broken into two pieces
Curry Leaves 1 sprig
Lemon Juice – 3 teaspoons
Sugar  2-2½ teaspoons
Oil – 3 teaspoons
Water
Salt to taste
Chopped Coriander Leaves – 2 tablespoons for garnishing

How to Make Dal Dhokli ( Cooking Method )




Step – 1 Wash the toor dal thoroughly in water. Now put dal, water, and salt in the pressure cooker. Close the lid of the cooker, and cook the dal on medium heat for 3 whistles. After that remove the cooker from the gas and keep it aside.

Step – 2 Take wheat flour, gram flour, carom seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, 1 tsp oil, and salt in a wide-mouthed vessel. Knead a soft dough by adding a little amount of water and cover the dough with a cloth and leave it for 10 minutes.

Step – 3 Take a pan, heat some oil and add mustard seeds. When mustard seeds start crackling, add cumin seeds, asafoetida, dry red chilies, and curry leaves, and let the cumin seeds crackle. After this add turmeric powder and red chili powder and mix well.


Step – 4 Now add lentils, boiled peanuts, lemon juice, sugar, and salt and bring it to a boil on medium heat. When it starts boiling, reduce the heat and leave it to cook for some time.

Step – 5 Now divide the dough into equal parts and make round balls. After that roll out thin rotis of 7-8 inch diameter with the help of a Chakla Belon. Cut into small pieces with a knife or cutter. Do the rest of the dough in the same way.

Step – 6 Now put the cut pieces of flour in the boiling pulses, cook for 1-2 minutes. After that keep adding the remaining dough to the piece. Keep stirring in between. Cook it for at least 10 minutes

Now your dal dhokli is ready, take out dal dhokli on a plate and serve hot garnished with green coriander.
